Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment?
No. We're walk-in only. Come in any time during open hours: Wednesday 10am–4pm, Thursday–Friday 10am–8pm, Saturday 8am–4pm.
What should I bring to a first visit?
Any prior vaccine or medical records you have (a photo or email is fine), and your dog on a leash or your cat in a carrier. Don't have records? No problem, we'll start fresh.
How long is the wait?
It varies with the day, but most visits are quick since we focus on wellness care. Call ahead and we can tell you how busy we are right now.
Do you treat sick or injured pets?
Our focus is wellness and preventative care, and we evaluate minor illness visits on a case-by-case basis. If your pet is sick or injured, call us first and we'll tell you whether we can see them or help you find the right place to go, including nearby urgent, emergency, and specialty hospitals. For anything urgent or emergent, go straight to an emergency hospital (see our Referrals page).
Is the rabies vaccine required in Lake County?
Yes. Under Section 2010.02 of the Lake County General Health District's regulations, all dogs, cats, and ferrets over 4 months old must be vaccinated for rabies, and indoor cats are not excluded. The county only recognizes rabies vaccines administered by a veterinarian, which every rabies vaccine here is. Walk in any time we're open and you'll leave with an official certificate.
Will I get official vaccine records?
Yes. You'll leave with records accepted by kennels, groomers, daycares, and for licensing.
Why are your prices lower than other vets?
By focusing on preventive care, maintaining low overhead (no X-rays, in-house equipment, surgeries, or dentals), and selecting cost-effective products, we're able to charge less without compromising medical quality. Every wellness price is listed on our pricing page.
